Stewardship of the Land
Whitestar Station spans a vast 1,143 hectares (over 2,800 acres), but the heart of our operation is balance. While we graze our Hereford cattle & sheep on 340 hectares of effective grassland, the vast majority of the station remains in native bush.

The Protected Core
A significant portion of our forest is legally protected under QEII National Trust covenants. This land is a dedicated sanctuary where we have carried out pest management for over 25 years to ensure the survival of ancient native flora and birdlife.

Restoring the Wider Station
Beyond the covenanted areas, we continue to prioritise the health of the entire station:

Riparian Protection: We have fenced off key waterways for stock exclusion and planted riparian strips to protect our water quality.

Eco-Driven Stays: We bring this same care to our accommodation, using hydro and solar power for off-grid cabins and providing Eco Store products to keep our land and water clean.

Local Amenities & Northern Coromandel

Whitestar Station is one of the premier gateways to the rugged beauty of Northern Coromandel. Whether you are here for the fishing, the farm, or the trails, here is where to find what you need:
Hereford 'n' Pickle: Located at 2318 Colville Road. This is a legendary local farm shop and café. It’s a must-visit for their famous burgers, great coffee, and local deli treats. We highly recommend it as the perfect "last stop" for a meal before you settle into the farm or head out on the Pahi shuttle.
Colville General Store: Just 5 minutes away. This is the last stop in Northern Coromandel for fuel (petrol/diesel) and basic supplies. (Open Mon-Sat 8:30 am–5 pm, and Sunday until 4 pm).
Major Supplies: For a full grocery shop, we suggest stopping at the Pak'n Save in Thames or the Four Square in Coromandel Town before continuing north to us.

Important Guest Information
Water Supply: Our water comes untreated from a natural stream collected high up in the hills. If you're not accustomed to rural water, we recommend boiling it before drinking.
Payment Facilities: Please note that we do not have EFTPOS or credit card services.
Laundry: Coin-operated laundry facilities are available near the office. Machines accept $1 and $2 coins.
Waste Management: Help us keep the farm pristine by disposing of garbage and recycling in designated bins near your accommodation or at the front entrance by the office.
